Miniature Martha Washington Sewing Table By Judith Blondell

This full scale miniature table is a Martha Washington sewing table. The table stands on turned legs and features three drawers in the centre. What makes this table unique is that drawing inspiration from Martha Washington's table it has extra storage. On either side of the drawers are side compartments, called project pockets, held fabric, needlepoint or knitting projects in progress, plus they were long enough to hold knitting needles. The compartments are covered by flat hinged lids that work as extra table space

This ingenious piece of furniture measures ~ 2-3/4 wide x 1-3/8" deep x 2-1/2" tall and is handcrafted by Judith Blondell.
