Using basic skills and imagination to create beautiful custom works
2 day course includes instruction on:
- Learning to Plan and Design your floors (and ceilings) for different room types
- Drawing your layout, and committing your plans to action
- Cutting and measuring your material
- Finishing techniques
We will be modelling two samples during this workshop. You will be bringing home your choice of a marble or tiled floor type or a wooden inlay floor. Please ensure that the rooms you wish to create these floors and ceiling for are square or rectangular, and you have the exact measurements with you (If you wish, make a template of your room floor before you come in).
Throughout this workshop, you will learn which type of floors look good in different types of rooms. We will also be discussing styles of floors and ceilings found in different periods. Floors and Ceilings are similar, design wise, but this course will emphasize creating custom floors. We will discuss how to apply floor techniques to ceilings. This course is suitable from beginning to advanced builders. Q&A will be held all throughout the entire workshop with Alberto, master artisan.

24" Steel ruler, X-acto type knife, Pencil, Pens (Red and Blue), Masking tape, 2 Sponge Paint Brushes ( 1"), Sandpaper (80, 100, 120, 500 Grit), Self Healing Cutting Mat
Things to note :
This course allows you to customize your floors and ceiling designs, therefore all the materials you may wish to use are available for sale the days of the workshop. Due to the reduced cost of this workshop no outside building materials will be permitted.
